Fine-tuning adapts model behaviour using task examples. RAG retrieves relevant material from selected information sources to provide context when the model responds. These approaches serve different purposes and can be combined where appropriate.
Discuss the source material, access requirements, expected outputs and evaluation criteria. Neither approach removes the need to test responses and define where human review is required.
On-device edge ML model deployment
Run a machine-learning model on a selected edge device for local inference: applying the model to new input where the device operates. Skymics provides on-device deployment alongside edge gateway and IoT integration services.
The deployment is matched to the model, supported hardware, memory, processing capacity and operating conditions. Local inference does not mean that every surrounding service is offline or that any model will run on any device.
